Lakeside Hammers duo Zach Wajtknecht and Alfie Bowtell will be hoping to turn some heads as they look to impress in the British under-21s Final.

They will both line-up in the prestigious national championship looking to claim the title which King’s Lynn’s Robert Lambert will defend at the home of Berwick Bandits (Shielfield Park) this evening after both progressing through the semi-final stages.

Youngster Wajtknecht pulled off a brilliant British Under-21 Semi-final win at Eastbourne.

He romped to a 14-point haul in tricky conditions at Arlington and finished level with Rye House ace Max Clegg but was awarded the win after beating Clegg when the pair met.

Steady rain fell throughout the night but the youngsters did themselves proud by battling through to reach a conclusion.

Bowtell also secured a place in the final after successfully navigating the Semi-Final at Birmingham’s Perry Bar stadium.

The Essex based rider suffered a fall on the last lap of his opening ride, before regrouping to score 10 points, including two race victories.
