A strong start and finish proved key as London Lions beat hosts Leeds to secure a BBL play-off spot.

The Lions followed up an impressive win over Newcastle in midweek with their 16th league success of the season.

Navid Niktash led the way with 26 points along with eight rebounds as one of six players in double figures in the win, including Joe Ikhinmwin with 15 off the bench.

The Lions raced out of the blocks with a 12-2 start, thanks to four three-pointers, and led by as many as 15 points in the period.

However, Leeds hit back by making six of their first seven three-point attempts and tied the game at 24-24.

The two teams would be level again heading into half-time and Leeds finally took their first lead on a Jermaine Sanders triple to make it 66-65.

London responded to move back in front and this time for good as they kept the hosts at bay before finishing with a 15-4 burst.

Lions scorers; Niktash 26, Taylor 18, Ikhinmwin 15, Owumi 12, Hassan 11, Williams 10, Lockhart 6, Wells 2, Moyo 0.
