Leyton Sixth Form dominated Tower Hamlets for a 48-run win but then became the dominated against Waltham Forest in the week 14 of the Essex County Board’s FE Chance to Shine tournament at the UEL SportsDock.
Leyton won the toss and batted in the first match of the day and received brilliant scores from their first three batsmen.

Openers Sohaib Kayani and Ummar Ibrahim each scored 24 runs, but the former reached his total in just five minutes, facing 10 deliveries and striking three boundaries.
Hassan Ali came to the crease after Kayani was dismissed and continued the onslaught, scorching 28 runs from 13 balls and then retiring.

The next three batsmen added little to the total as Ibrahim carried his bat, but the Tower Hamlets bowling attack gave up 53 extras and Leyton posted 137-3.
Sadik Ahmed was the only bowler to have real success, with an economy rate of just over 10 and one wicket in three overs of work.

The Tower Hamlets batsmen never got going in reply as Tarek Ahmed (11) and Muhammad Shahalom (6) were run out after slow innings.
Ahmed and Tahsin Chowdhury built up a decent partnership, but again they could not stay in and put any pressure on the bowlers.
Chowdhury was caught out for 12 runs by Ali off the bowling of Zain Haidrey.
Humayun Badsha was run out by Ibrahim for just one run and then Ahmed was dismissed after scoring 10 off 13 deliveries.
Kayani bowled Shahed Rahman (6) and Leyton won by 48 runs after bowling Tower Hamlets all out for 89.
Leyton’s bowlers started well against Waltham Forest, until Rizwan Khan torched them for 47 runs.
Faizan Baig and Hamza Ghulam started weakly for Waltham Forest as Baig was caught out by Haidrey for 10 off of seven balls and Ghulam was run out by Ibrahim for nine.
Sadiq Kamal and Imran Ahmad scored 13 runs each, but the innings was still not anything spectacular until Khan arrived at the crease with his side were 59-3 in the fifth over.
Khan started off his innings with a boundary and never looked back as he scored 47 runs from just 19 deliveries, with two additional fours and one six.
Leyton faced a daunting task as they began to chase Waltham Forest’s 122-5. Kayani was dismissed for three runs, although his opening partner Ibrahim knocked 18 from 11 balls.
Ali had a promising start to his innings, launching a six off the second ball he faced, but was run out for nine runs.
None of the remaining batsmen even made it to nine runs and Leyton were bowled out cheaply for 79 runs.
Waltham Forest used just three bowlers and Kamal was the most successful, taking 1-15 in 2.1 overs of work to aid his side to a 43-run win.
