The Victoria Park Community League has turned its attention to its cup competition, with phase one of the league season now over.

Ex-Pats made 167-4 against Mad Marrocas, thanks to impressive batting by Alex Hickson (50) and Stu Campbell (51).

But Marrocas kept up with the run rate and looked in good shape thanks to Jamie Cox (52), before coming up short.

Government Actuaries Department made 166-3 against NMCC, with Owen Dimbylow (52) and Alan Dorn (36) among the top scorers, and their rivals finished on 130-6, despite a spirited knock from Ed Wylde (53) as Jack Errington took 4-26 for GADC.

London Fields posted 154-3 against Pacific, who were bowled out for 105.

The second round began on Tuesday, with only one wicket falling in one of the matches.

Old Fallopians 2nd XII smashed an impressive 184-0, with Freddie Barrass (53), Matt Wake (50) and Samsuddin Tipu (50) looked immovable. but Best Nationals replied with 146-1 thanks to a good innings from Suraj (50), with Raj (21) the only batsman to lose his wicket.

Mile Tailenders saw off Crossrail, who made 155-5 after impressive batting from Taylor (48) and Edward Hamlyn (54).

Sanj Gunewaradene retired on 50 in reply and confident batting from skipper John Speakman (31) saw Tailenders chase down their target with four balls to spare.

Victoria Lounge eased past newcomers Evans Music CC, who completed their allotted overs on a modest 90-5, with five overs to spare, before Ex-Pats returned against Regents on Wednesday.

Regents posted a competitive 127-6, as Mark Partridge top scored with 50 and David Campbell added 30.

Ex-Pats looked to be coasting thanks to Trent Byrne’s early striking but he fell for 34 and they suffered a collapse.

Despite a hard-hit 28 from Reston Gimpel, they would lose by 12 runs.

Camel Lights looked in good nick against Homerton thanks to 49 from opener and skipper Tom Porter and some late blasting from Rich Haagen (45) in their 152-4.

And despite a spirited knick of 31 from opener Lorenzo de Glossop, Homerton fell well short, bowled out for 57.

Mashia scored a hefty 175-3 against London Fields as Rahil Shahzad (51) and Stuart Miller (24) shone brightest with the bat and despite a valiant reply, LF finished well short on 135-6.
