Half Moon children’s theatre is half-way through its monster autumn season as Hallowe’en approaches in London’s East End with family shows including puppetry, poetry, spoken word, dance and storytelling.

Acclaimed family theatre companies and artists are celebrating the heritage of Half Moon’s 150-year-old listed building, first opened in 1864 as the Limehouse municipal vestry hall which has been occupied by the theatre company now for 20 years.

The season for youngsters of all ages, from babies to 19-year-olds, runs until December 20. It also includes free ‘Limehouse Landmark’ family events on three autumn Saturdays, paid for by the Heritage Lottery Fund, with a photographic exhibition by east London photographer David Mott.

Next event for toddlers and kids up to age seven is ‘Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus’ (50 mins), this Saturday (Oct 25) at 11am and 2pm.

For Hallowe’en, the theatre in White Horse Road, off the Commercial Road, stages The Story Giant (50 mins) running three days next week—October 30 at 7pm, October 31 at 2.30pm and 7pm and two Saturday performances on November 1 at 11am and 3pm, all tickets £6.

Story Giant explores folklore, myth and fairytales from all over the world, with ghosts, monsters, thieves, tricksters, dragons and homing chickens in an adventure to find the last story on earth.
