An art project inspired by the Arab Spring uprisings was launched onto a big screen at Canary Wharf Station this week.

The video Hold Your Ground by art duo Karen Mirza and Brad Butler was inspired by recent uprisings in the Middle East and is being shown as part of Transport for London’s Art on the Underground.

Triggered by the artists’ discovery in Cairo of a pamphlet of instructions for pro-democracy demonstrators, called ‘How to Protest Intelligently’, the piece dissects the language of the crowd through a speech act.

After premiering on Wednesday the video will be shown on the Canary Wharf Station screen between April 26 and 27 May 27.
