Atlanta garage-punks Black Lips head up an impressive line-up at year’s The 1234 Festival in East London this weekend.

The band will be bringing their infamous live show - the guitarist once stripped naked and kept playing with an unusual body part - to Shoreditch Park on Saturday (July 9).

Their sixth album, ‘Arabia Mountain’, produced by Mark Ronson, was released last month.

They will be joined by cult duo The Ravonettes and other emerging acts including English alternative rock band The Chapman Family, new electro artisits Becoming Real, and Christian AIDS.

Promoter Sean McLusky founded the one-day independent festival in 2007 to champion new live music in an accessible and affordable setting.

Past performers include Florence and the Machine, Bobbie Gillespie and Patrick Wolf.

McLusky said: “ We are not interested in booking agents and record label schedules, we are interested in the sheer audacity and bluster of the rock n’ roll beast.”

Tickets cost 22.50. For more information or to book, go to www.the1234shoreditch.com.
