A DUO of crime fiction writers will be talking about plotting the perfect whodunnit at a talk at Bethnal Green library tonight.

Elizabeth Wilson is an expert in fashion and feminism and is also the author of a series of crime novels including The Lost Hearts Caf.

She will talk about her latest book War Damage which is set in the gloomy post war days when people were coming to terms with the peace but still having to put up with rationing.

However the dreary post war atmosphere is no deterrent to bohemian Regine Milner who hosts weekend parties.

But a body is discovered on Hampstead Heath following one of Regine's gatherings sparking an investigation into the hidden past of some of the guests.

The novel is a sequel to her 2006 novel The Twilight Hour.

By contrast Cathi Unsworth's novel Bad Penny Blues transports readers to 1960s Soho.

The former writer for music magazines is making a name for herself as another up and coming crime writer.

A new and ambitious policeman stumbles on the body of a young woman in the city, in a story inspired by the eight unsolved Jack the Stripper murders of working girls in the late 1950s and 1960s.

The novel has been described as a British 'Black Dahlia' noir novel.

The authors will be speaking at the London Writers Book Group Plus meeting at the library in Cambridge Heath Road at 6.30pm.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
