A MUCH-LOVED figure of the British music scene, Eddi Reader will perform at Canary Wharf's East Wintergarden next week.

She will be joined by special guest Boo Hewerdine, an accomplished singer-songwriter, renowned for his unique style with overtones of folk, pop and Nashville.

Love Is The Way is Eddi's new album for Rough Trade Records.

Since the early 1980s Eddi has helped to define the landscape in which folk artists and singer-songwriters navigate. Her incomparable voice and positive outlook have been a mainstay in British music ever since her band, Fairground Attraction hit the charts with the song Perfect in 1988.

Following Fairground Attraction's break-up, Eddi Reader ventured into a solo career to the delight of fans and critics alike and, most recently, her album The Songs of Robert Burns met with international acclaim and her self-titled 1994 album which featured hit Patience of Angels.

Eddi's new, self-produced album sees her move away from the traditional folk leanings of her last two releases towards modern classic songwriting.

Acoustic After Hours with Eddi Reader is at East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf from 7.45pm next Wednesday.

Tickets cost 20 from www.ticketweb.co.uk or 0844 847 2268.
