Having kids needn’t stop you partying - just bring them along for the ride.

Or at least that’s the thinking behind Big Fish Little Fish’s family raves, which have been described by The Guardian as London’s latest clubbing craze.

Combining top name DJs which wouldn’t be out of place on the biggest of dancefloors with arts and crafts and fancy dress, the events are designed to be equally desireable to all the family.

And unlike most (all) clubs, along with the licensed bar, there are also Happy Monkey smoothies for the kids, a baby change and a buggy park.

Although predominantly aimed at babies and children aged up to eight years old, there are also activities designed to engage older siblings.

“The lovely thing about it is that there has been this realisation that you can come together with your children and both have a good time,” MD Hannah Saunders, who has two children, explained. “We have created something that we want to do and enjoy with our own children, and we seemed to have found a lot of like minded people.”

An enchanted forest theme will add to the magic at Big Fish Little Fish’s first ever party at Stratford Circus next month.

Tayo - who has been a resident DJ at many major clubs and venues throughout the UK, including Fabric, The End and Ministry of Sound - will be taking charge of the decks.

And along with the free glowsticks, lasers, glitter cannons, bubbles and giant colouring-in mural, there’ll also be space for babies who haven’t yet learnt to walk with soft mats, beanbags and ball pools - while the army reserves at West Ham have leant BFLF some camoflague nets for the event.

“We are really excited to have been asked to come to Stratford because it seems like a natural progression,” Hannah said.

“When I was a raver back in the Nineties I went to an amazing New Year’s Eve party at Three Mills lsland Studios [in Bow], so East London will always have a special place in my heart.

Since the company was established in 2013, BFLF have put on more than 30 parties for up to 700 ravers, young and old.

They’ve also popped at family-friendly festivals, including Camp Bestival and Imagine Childrens’ Festival.

DJs at previous events have included Terry Farley, Tom Middleton, DJ Food, and Nihal.

“We hope that people will enjoy what we have to offer in Stratford and it could become a regular thing,” Hannah added.

The family rave at Stratford Circus on February 7 will take place from 2pm to 4.30pm. Advance tickets cost £8 for adults and £4.50 children. Pre-walking infants go free. Buy online at wegottickets.com/event/300931
