Zara Drei works at corsetry boutique Fairy Gothmother as a PR manager. The store opened its doors in Spitalfields' Lam Street in October 2006. Initially the store opened its first branch in Camden in 1999, but then relocated to a bigger store in Shoreditch. There clothing range has featured on shows such as Trinny and Susannah and Gok Wan's Fashion Fix.

Where are you from?

"I'm originally from northwest London where I grew up with my family, but I've been living in east London for the past four years, I'm sharing a flat with a friend at the moment."

What makes Fairy Gothmother different from other boutiques in the area?

"We are quite quirky and have very unique items. We do a lot of corsetry and we do things very different as we customize our corsets and lingerie. People can create their own unique design. We hope that when women come into Fairy Gothmother they will feel glamorous. Corsets pull you in at the waist by about four inches so it gives women the classic hourglass shape which looks great under clothing or can be worn over clothing also. Plus we sell other people's designs also."

How did you end up working at Fairy Gothmother?

"I was a customer at first and I heard they had a vacancy and I applied for it because I really like there products and the staff were always nice and friendly. I thought it would be a nice place to work in. I've worked for Fairy Gothmother for four to five years."

What do you like about East London?

"There are many things. There is always a lot to do in the area. There are lots of clubs and various venues to go to such as cabaret clubs like Bethnal Green Working Men's club, they do pretty good nights and I also like Last Days of Decadence on Shoreditch High Street. There are always new clubs and great shops. There is a good mix of people here, so many creative people; it's nice.

What do you like dislike about East London?

"The area can be quite noisy and it's often dirty around here, but it's a trade off because I want to live somewhere fun and when I'm working here I do get to see the occasional celebrity. Jonathan Ross's wife came in a while back which was nice.
