The ways our lives are controlled through customs, consumerism and technology is the theme of a new exhibition opening in the East End.
Vows of silence, governmental control in China, alcohol and drug addiction are also among the diverse subject matters explored by nine artists whose work will be displayed in Oxford House, Bethnal Green next month.
The works are conducted in various mediums including art, documentary and photography and all but one of the photographers live and work in the north of England.
Publisher Dewi Lewis said the exhibition “whilst dealing with complex issues, remains accessible and richly rewarding”.
Control opens on Monday (October 3) and runs until October 29 at Oxford House in Derbyshire Street.
