THE cross-dressing door girl/boy for iconic East End club night BoomBox is using the party's eclectic fashion credentials to set up a new boutique.

Jeanette, sometimes known as James Main, has served as a muse for designers Giles Deacon and Gareth Pugh and worked as a stylist for i-D and Dazed and Confused magazines and now the trailblazing gender illusionist has opened a new exclusive clothing store in a converted garage in Bethnal Green's Redchurch Street.

The concept of the shop is to offer one-off and hard-to-get pieces from some of the most exciting designers, including Richard Nicoll, Louise Grey and James Long who have designed new, never before seen garments.

The shop, which has its entrance around the corner on Club Row and is done up to look like a Jamaican shack, is also stocking previously unavailable pieces from Giles Deacon, Christopher Kane and Judy Blame.

Turner Prize-nominee Mark Titchner has designed limited edition printed t-shirts exclusively for Jeanette's and inside the shop Benjamin Alexander Huseby has created sculptures and furniture and artist Giles Round has installed a hanging drape.

Jeanette's opened with a celebrity-filled bash last month and will stock constantly-changing one-off pieces.
