Jailed Russian punk band Pussy Riot are the subject of a one-off documentary to be screened on Thursday night.
“Pussy Riot – A Punk Prayer” will be shown at Rich Mix on Thursday evening.
The film charts the astonishing journey of the feminist group, whose members were jailed on charges of religious hatred by the Kremlin after performing a protest song criticising president Vladimir Putin in a Moscow cathedral last year.
But the documentary focuses on the human side of the story, following the three women who were prepared to have their voices heard at such great personal cost.
The film will be shown from 8pm on Thursday, June 27 at Rich Mix Cinema in Bethnal Green Road, Shoreditch.
