Radio One DJ Rob Da Bank is backing calls for musical young Londoners to sign up for the chance to perform across the capital during the Olympics.

The deadline for entry to the “Gigs - Big Busk” contest is Friday, and places remain up for grabs for musicians of all styles aged 11-25, with a host of prizes on offer.

As well as the chance to help bring London for life during the Olympics, rewards include a busking pass for the London Underground, studio recording time, and the opportunity to play at the Hyde Park Live site.

Shortlisted acts will be filmed busking, with the footage then being voted on by the public. This vote will be used in conjunction with the views of a panel of experts in order to determine which performers will feature in the competition’s grand final in September.
