ANYONE who was lucky enough to be at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen last Wednesday will have had the joy of witnessing the live prowess of Wave Machines.

Festival-goers at Latitude, Lovebox and Glastonbury are among others who have been regailed this summer with tracks from the Liverpudlians powerful debut album Wave If You're Really There.

The band started out with Chess Club Records putting out singles The Greatest Escape We Ever Made and I Go I Go I Go.

A move to Neapolitan Music saw them release Keep The Lights On and a re-recorded version of I Go I Go I Go were put out in the run up to the album issue.

All these tracks have made it to the album.

Their latest single, Punk Spirit, is now out, with the radio edit and instrumental as well as the album version on the EP.

There is nothing 'punk' about this track any more than there really is about the band - that they sing 'where's my punk spirit' makes the statement pretty well.

They are a great live band and the album is wonderful. Whether this was the best choice as a release to support it is a question only download stats & CD sales will answer.
