THE TENDER tale of a young girl who leaves home in search of her fortune is featured in a play at The Courtyard Theatre in Shoreditch.

The sweeping tale The Passing of Great Aunt Grace spans a lifetime and is being performed until tomorrow (Thursday).

It tells the story of Grace who, aged 13, leaves home and sets sail alone across the world, aiming to return home a rich, fulfilled woman.

Things go horribly wrong and Grace's story spans almost eight decades as she goes in search of the truth and makes the ultimate sacrifice, for love.

It is written by Suzanne Davis, directed by George Beck and put on by From The Soul Productions as one of a series of three shows at the theatre.

The Courtyard Theatre is in Bowling Green Walk, Pitfield Street, off Old Street.
