Tickets are being giving away to hear the BBC Symphony Orchestra at this year’s Spitalfields Music summer festival in London’s East End.

Festival organisers are offering Tower Hamlets families freebies to see the orchestra perform Mahler’s 4th Symphony, composed in 1900, and the UK premiere of a new work by Dutch composer Michel van der Aa’s ‘Spaces of Blank,’ at 7.30pm on June 18 at Spitalfields Church.

The limited number of free tickets are offered on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis to residents by contacting Charlotte Linton on 020-7377 1362 or by email to charlotte.linton@spitalfieldsmusic.org.uk.

The summer festival features 60 events, including evening concerts, talks and outdoor walks. Performers also include English Concert, New London Chamber Choir, London Sinfonietta, Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Gabrieli Consort, Choir of Clare College, Joyful Company of Singers, London Bulgarian Choir and others.
