Woolly art installation at City church

NEARLY 200 miles of wool will be on display in a historic church as part of an art installation in the run-up to Easter.
The wool hank, which weighs 103lb and measures 189 miles, will be hung up in the 18th century church All Hallows-on-the-Wall in London Wall.
Entitled 189 Miles: Wool Installation, Angela Wright's piece will hang as two cascading coils parted like a doorway and spilling out across the floor in the nave of the church. Visitors will be able to stand close and walk inside the piece, touch and feel the yarn.
The artist said: "Visiting the site I was struck by the ceiling's creamy softness and flower-like patterns. I imagined a work that would connect these characteristics with the floor and 'pour' them over it."

The installation will be open from Wednesday, March 18-Monday, April 13 at Wallspace at All Hallows-on-the-Wall.
