A man is fighting for his life after reports of a casualty on the tracks in a busy underground station.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to Bow Road underground station at around 10.20am today (December 21) after reports of a casualty on the tracks.

A man was found and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) said it was called at 10.19am today and sent ambulance crews, a hazardous area response team, an incident response officer and London's Air Ambulance.

“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a London major trauma centre," a LAS spokesperson said.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious, BTP added.

A video was shared on social media site X describing "chaos" at Bow Road station.

The poster claimed there were three fire engines, ten ambulances, two emergency response vans and five police vehicles.
